I waited a long time for my
first Pointer. I had loved the breed forever but had just never seen that
certain dog that took my eye and my heart - then along came Sonny (MBIS Can. Am.
Ch. Tahari's Serious Alibi). I was showing a couple of borzoi and his handler,
John Griffith was kind enough to give me a hand, so I got to know Sonny a little
and loved his temperament - his looks were a given. That year he was Top Dog All
Breeds in Canada. I waited for a Sonny puppy. At the Brockville show, I spied
someone walking two Pointer puppies and ran over to check them out. It was Julia
Munro, a friend from the Borzoi world and, lo and behold, they were Sonny
puppies. That was all I needed and a deal was struck then and there and Daphne (Ch.
Coquetel Just In Time) became part of my life. I have never regretted it for
a second. She is the sweetest, most even tempered dog I have ever owned: nothing
ruffles her, in the ring or out. She finished her championship in short order
gaining several Best Puppy in Group awards and one Best Puppy in Show along with
two Group 2nds from the puppy classes. She has been bred only once, to Ch.
Coquetel King of the Mark and the puppies from this litter are, in my humble
opinion, very promising. The three puppies in show homes have finished their
championships with group placements and they are all major pointed in
the U.S. Two of them have started field training and the little girl has
obedience titles. So, check out the dogs of
Lamont
Pointers - both here and in other homes.
