"LIZZY"

Dec. 29, 2000 - June 19, 2007

We have a secret, you and I,
That no one else shall know,
For who, but I can see you lie,
Each night, in fireglow?
And who but I can reach my hand
Before we go to bed,
And feel the living warmth of you
And touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths,
And see, ahead of me,
Your small form racing with the wind,
So young again, and free.
And only I can see you swim
In every brook I pass.
And, when I call, no one but I
Can see the bending grass.

There's no mistaking the mischief in that face - from the first time I saw her in the Holiday Inn in Troy, Michigan, I had to have her. Luckily for me, Melanie was willing to let her come to Canada and she has been the light of my life ever since. At 10 weeks of age, she sat on a grooming table in Cobo Hall and kissed everyone who walked by and she hasn't looked back since. Her show career began with a BPIG from Dorothy Nickles who called Lizzy, "Maybe the best dog I have judged all day" and continued with group placements from the classes, including two group 2nds. She also won BPISS and RWB at the Canadian National under Mike Canalizo. She has had group placements and wins all along the way culminating in a Best In Show from breeder/judge Dick Meen. As this was Dick's first BIS assignment in Canada, Lizzy's first group win and my first owner handled BIS, it was quite a day!
Lost to osteosarcoma. My heart is broken.
