Ziggy was a gift to me from Audrey, and he was the perfect dog. A true gentleman, he never did a bad thing while he lived with me. He didn't enjoy the show ring so was retired after only a year and a half of showing during which he garnered many group wins and placements. He was my constant companion and protector as well as the sire of the first Sirhan Sirovna bred litter. Ziggy died of kidney failure due to damage sustained during a prolonged kidney infection while he was living elsewhere. He was almost ten, but it was too soon... much too soon.

I have done mostly what men do
And pushed it out of my mind,
But I can't forget if I wanted to
Four feet trotting behind.

Day after day, the whole day through
Wherever my road inclined,
Four feet said, "I´m coming with you,"
and trotted along behind.

Now I must go by some other road -
which I shall never find -
Somewhere that doesn't carry the sound
of four feet trotting behind.
